Synopsis
The Boy and the Heron is inspired by the story of the book by Genzaburo Yoshino , released in 1937. Therefore, The Boy and the Crane won Best Animated Film at the 81st Golden Globe Awards and the Oscar. However, the Alliance of Women Film Journalists awarded it the Best Animated Film award at their EDA Awards on December 31.
