Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata 's work was a best-selling phenomenon in Japan and eventually exploded worldwide, becoming an instant hit in Germany, France, Italy, the USA, and other countries. The series was published in Brazil as a tankōbon by Editora JBC in 2007, was a huge hit with the public, and now returns in a new format that will please fans and those who have never read the manga. The Black Edition aims to appeal to a largely unexplored segment of the Brazilian manga market: collectors. This more than special edition will be released in bookstores and specialty stores. The Story
By chance, student Light Yagami becomes the owner of a mysterious black-covered notebook bearing the words "Death Note." Soon, he realizes the incredible power of this object: by writing the name of any person he chooses in it, that person dies!
The son of the city police chief and possessed of a strong sense of justice, the young man decides to use the notebook to punish those who harm society and begins writing the names of criminals in it. The deaths of so many people attract the attention of the authorities, and, in a desperate attempt, the great detective L is hired to solve the case. Will the shrewd L be able to solve this mystery? How will Light deal with this opposition to his crusade for justice? Twists and turns and plenty of suspense are part of this fantastic story.
Death Note – Black Edition is expected to hit bookstores and specialty stores in the first half of the year, in a deluxe format, with special paper, 8 color pages, priced at R$39.90 and published monthly (since it is aimed at specialty stores, the manga will not be collected even when new volumes arrive).
