The work by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata was a sales phenomenon in Japan and ended up exploding around the world, becoming an instant hit in Germany, France, Italy, the USA, among other countries. The series was published in Brazil in tankobon by Editora JBC in 2007, became popular with the public, and now returns in a new format that will please fans and also those who have never read this manga. The publication of Black Edition aims to target a little explored segment of the national manga market: collectors. That's why this more than special edition will be released in bookstores and specialized stores. In six deluxe editions that comprise two tankobons in each volume, with an average of 450 pages, Death Note BE will come with eight colored pages at the beginning of the edition, special paper, varnished cover and differentiated finish, in addition to translation revision. All of this makes the Black Edition an essential item for any collection.
The History
Chance makes student Light Yagami the owner of a mysterious black-covered notebook with the words “Death Note”. Before long, the boy realizes the incredible power of that object: when he writes the name of anyone he chooses there, they end up dead!
Son of the city's police chief and owner of a strong sense of justice, the young man decides to use the notebook to punish those who harm society and starts writing the names of criminals there. The death of so many people draws the attention of the authorities and, in an extreme measure, the great detective L is hired to solve the case. Will the sagacious L be able to solve this mystery? How will Light deal with this opposition to his crusade for justice? Twists and lots of suspense are part of this fantastic story.
The forecast is that Death Note – Black Edition will reach bookstores and specialized stores in the first half of the year, in a luxury format, special paper, 8 colored pages, at a price of R$39.90 and monthly (as it is aimed at specialized stores, manga will not be collected even when new volumes arrive).
