A website opened on Wednesday to announce the anime adaptation of Taku Kawamura, Jijou wo Shiranai Tenkousei ga Guigui Kuru (My Clueless First Friend). In addition, the site revealed the main voice cast, the anime's technical staff, a 2023 premiere date, a poster, and a promotional video.

Synopsis

Opposites attract when a cheerful airhead meets the loner of his new class in this heartwarming school comedy series. A lonely and sad fifth-grade girl is the target of relentless bullying and teasing from her classmates, until a new boy enters the scene. The friendly Takada is as clueless as he is well-intentioned, but somehow possesses the magical ability to start drawing the 'Grim Reaper' Nishimura out of his shell. As the elementary school students experience all the fun of a childhood summer together – from swimming in the pool to picking sunflowers and watching fireworks – an unlikely friendship blossoms.

Shigenori Kageyama (DYNAMIC CHORD, Himawari!, Himawari Too!!) ​​is therefore directing the anime at St.Signpost studio, while Chikashi Kadekaru (Mieruko-chan, Juni Taisen: Zodiac War) is designing the characters. Takafumi Hoshikawa (Shaman King Storyboard, Unit Director) and Shogo Yasukawa (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Ayakashi Triangle) are in charge of the series scripts, and Toshio Masuda (Kamisama Kiss, Naruto) is composing the music.

Kawamura then launched the manga in Gangan Joker 's Square Enix in May 2018. Square Enix subsequently published the first volume of the manga in October 2018, and the 13th volume will be published on November 22nd.
