JoJo's Bizarre gets live-action spin-off with Rohan Kishibe

NHK has announced the production of a 3-episode miniseries adapting the manga Kishibe Rohan ga Ugokanai , a spinoff of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure that focuses on mangaka Rohan Kishibe .

However, the miniseries will star Issei Takahashi (live-action Ikebukuro West Gate Park) as Rohan Kishibe , the episodes will premiere on NHK on December 28, 29 and 30.

  • 1st EP – Fugou Mura: Rohan is dragged into an incident inside a millionaire's mansion.
  • 2nd EP – Kushagara: Short story of Ballad Kitaguni in the spinoff novel, where Rohan receives a strange request from his fellow mangaka, Jugo Shishi.
  • 3rd EP – DNA: It is an original story where Rohan is investigating his editor's amnesia through hypnosis.

Cast for the live-action

  • Fuuga Shibazaki as Ikkyuu, a butler at the millionaire's mansion.
  • Mirai Moriyama as Juugo Shishi, Rohan's classmate.
  • Kumi Takiuchi as Mai Katahira, a widow who lost her husband in a car accident six years ago.
  • Tomoya Nakamura as Tarou Hirai, a cameraman accompanying Kyoka
  • Marie Iitoyo as Kyoka Izumi, Rohan's editor.

Kazutaka Watanabe will direct the series. Yasuko Kobayashi, the screenwriter of the anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, will write the script. Naruyoshi Kikuchi (Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt) is composing the soundtrack.

Furthermore, author Hirohiko Araki launched the manga Kishibe Rohan ga Ugokanai , starring his fictional alter ego, Rohan, in Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997. Furthermore, the spinoff Diamond is Unbreakable was adapted into an anime by David Production between 2017 and 2019, with four episodes.

Finally, Araki launched the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga in Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump in 1987, with 127 volumes and 8 arcs. Furthermore, the manga received anime adaptations up to the 5th arc, Golden Wind in 2018, with 39 episodes and 3 recaps.
