As everyone knows, the Jujutsu Kaisen anime gained prominence after its incredible first season, leading fans to place high hopes on the series' quality. That said, episode 14 of the second season received harsh criticism for its animation, prompting the episode's director, Hokuto Sadamoto, to apologize.

In the premiere of Thursday's episode (26), Hokuto on Twitter for the material in episode 14 of the second season. In addition, he commented that the short deadline for delivering the animation was one of the factors in the negative result.

“Even before accepting the contract, I was repeatedly told I didn’t have time, so I thought, ‘Let’s save energy…’, and that’s my responsibility. […]

Not everyone is as awful as I am, so I know that everyone's sympathy and encouragement should come from the bottom of their hearts. But right after releasing something that didn't satisfy me, that kind of reaction has the opposite effect, so for now, I just… want you to give me some time. I'll make up for it in my future work. Until then, I'll live my life as the worst animator who ruined a masterpiece.”

It's also worth mentioning that Hokuto believed he wouldn't be credited as the director of episode 14 of season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen . However, a leak revealed his role in the production.

“I did a job that nobody would appreciate, and I’m sure I’ll continue to do it. I’m sorry. I was angry about the leak, but I was just a coward because I tried to run away, pretending I wouldn’t get credit. I’m very sorry.”

MAPPA studio had already been accused of offering unsatisfactory working conditions to its employees previously. In addition to short deadlines, other animators also denounced, this week, lack of payment and credit for the projects they worked on.

"I lost contact with the production team, so I couldn't get my payment and my name wasn't in the credits."
