Jujutsu Kaisen: 3rd Season of the anime announced

The official website for the second season of the Jujutsu Kaisen announced that it will have a sequel adapting the “ Game of Slaughter ” (Shimetsu Kaiyū) arc from the manga.

MAPPA will continue to produce the anime.

Therefore, the last episode of the second season of the anime and the “Incident in Shibuya” arc aired this Thursday. The season premiered on July 6th.

Synopsis

Ever since Yuji Itadori, a high school student, became involved with the secret society of sorcerers called Jujutsu Kaisen, he has been training to face curses, evil beings that haunt the world of the living. Therefore, to protect his friends and innocent people, Yuji decides to join the jujutsu sorcerers as a student in training under the guardianship of Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer of all.

The second season was shown for two cours (quarters of the year) in a continuous half-year run. The anime adapts the “Secret Inventory / Premature Death” (“Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu”) and “Shibuya Incident” arcs from the original manga by Gege Akutami. The “Secret Inventory/Premature Death” arc aired from July 6 to August 3, and then the show aired two compilation episodes on August 10 and 17. The “Shibuya Incident” arc began on August 31 and consisted of 18 episodes.

Gege Akutami launched the manga in Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018.
