Since the anime premiered, it's become quite clear that Satoru Gojo is one of Jujutsu Kaisen due to the sheer number of fans he's acquired. However, Yuichi Nakamura , Gojo's Japanese voice actor, admitted he doesn't quite understand why his character is so popular.

The news profile @king_jin_woo translated an interview with Yuichi Nakamura in Animage where he comments on Gojo's role in the anime's second season. He also makes a comment directly to the anime's fans, questioning why they love Gojo so much.
“I wonder why he's so popular. When people say, 'I like Gojo, he's so cool, he's popular,' I honestly don't get it, and it makes me think, 'You're calling a guy 'cool' who you don't know much about. Are you guys okay? Wow.'”
Synopsis:
The story follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student who becomes involved with a secret society of sorcerers called Jujutsu Kaisen, who fight curses—evil beings that haunt the living world. To protect his friends and family, Yuji decides to become a sorcerer and joins forces with other members of Jujutsu Kaisen, including his mentor, the powerful sorcerer Satoru Gojo.
The first season of the anime premiered in October 2020 and had 24 episodes animated by the studio MAPPA .
