Since the anime premiered, it has become quite evident that Satoru Gojo is one of the most popular characters in Jujutsu Kaisen due to the number of fans he has acquired. However, Yuichi Nakamura , Gojo's Japanese voice actor, admitted that he doesn't understand exactly why his character is so popular.

The news profile @king_jin_woo translated an interview with Yuichi Nakamura in Animage where he comments on Gojo's role in the 2nd season of the anime. Furthermore, he makes a comment directly to anime fans, questioning why they love Gojo so much.
“I wonder why he is so popular. When people say “I like Gojo, he's so cool, he's popular”, I honestly don't understand and it makes me think “You're calling a guy 'cool' that you don't know much about. Are you guys okay? Whoa.”
Synopsis:
The story therefore follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student who becomes involved with a secret society of sorcerers called Jujutsu Kaisen, who fight against curses, evil beings that haunt the world of the living. So, to protect his friends and family, Yuji decides to become a sorcerer and teams up with other members of Jujutsu Kaisen, including his mentor, the powerful sorcerer Satoru Gojo.
The first season of the anime premiered in October 2020 and had 24 episodes animated by studio MAPPA .
