Check it out:

After Gojo was immobilized, the leader of the Curses revealed that he wasn't actually the real Suguru Geto; his body was just a vessel now. However, the villain was surprised when Geto's body resisted and tried to regain control. Ashitaka , the protagonist of Princess Mononoke , went through a similar situation when his body tried to act against his will. Comparing the two animes, it seems that Ashitaka's loss of control inspired Geto's scene.
