Jujutsu Kaisen tops the list of best-selling manga of 2022

Jujutsu Kaisen became a mega hit after its anime adaptation took off around the world. As a result of this success, sales of its manga began to grow significantly, becoming the best-selling manga of the year. Oricon updated its list of best-selling manga of 2022, and Jujutsu Kaisen tops the charts.

According to Oricon, this list refers to manga that were sold in Japan from November 2021 to November 2022. The list also only counted sales of physical volumes, not digital sales.

Besides Jujutsu Kaisen , other well-known titles topped the list. Tokyo Revengers and Spy x Family also saw a sales boost after receiving anime adaptations. However, Demon Slayer , which had been the best-selling title in recent years, fell from first place to 11th.

Synopsis:

The story follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student who becomes involved with a secret society of sorcerers called Jujutsu Kaisen, who fight curses—evil beings that haunt the living world. Ultimately, to protect his friends and family, Yuji decides to become a sorcerer and joins forces with other members of Jujutsu Kaisen, including his mentor, the powerful sorcerer Gojo Satoru.

Therefore, the first season premiered in October 2020 and had 24 episodes animated by the MAPPA .
