The suspicion is that an attack involving unauthorized external access occurred. As a result, several major websites are temporarily offline. Among those affected are the popular streaming service Niconico and several official anime websites produced by Kadokawa.
This situation is concerning, as Kadokawa is a key player in distributing much of the content we love. From major anime series to light novels and manga, the company plays a crucial role in our community. Furthermore, Niconico is an essential platform for many anime fans, offering a wide range of videos, live streams, and an interactive space for fans to connect.
For now, KADOKAWA is working hard to resolve this issue. There's no estimate yet for when services will return to normal, but the company assures that it's doing everything possible to ensure the security of its systems and the protection of user data.
We'll keep an eye out for further updates and hope everything gets resolved soon. In the meantime, stay tuned to AnimeNew for more information on this and other anime-related !
