Issue #19 of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, released on Monday, April 7, marked the highly anticipated 74th chapter of Kagurabachi. Titled Dawn, the episode revisits the developments of the swordsman's confrontation, brings important revelations about Samura's past, and anticipates a three-way battle between wielders of enchanted swords.

Chapter 74 of Kagurabachi deepens the bond between Samura and his daughter Iori, while also giving new focus to the antagonist Yura, now openly a member of the Hishaku group. The reunion between the two characters reveals old secrets and sets the stage for the next clash involving Samura, Chihiro, and Hiruhiko.

Imminent showdown between heroes and villains in Kagurabachi

The chapter begins with Samura being informed of Kunishige Rokuhira's murder and the theft of the Enchanted Swords. The news comes through Kamunabi, the organization responsible for protecting the wielders of these weapons. The initial plan is to escort Samura to the entity's headquarters, but everything changes when Yura appears at his door.

Outside, the bodies of the agents sent lie on the ground. Yura introduces himself as a member of the Hishaku and admits to having killed one of the swordsmen. Instead of trying to eliminate Samura immediately, he proposes a deal. The conversation exposes the growing tension between the factions involved in the Seitei War and reveals the Hishaku's intention to reverse the curse inflicted by the Shinuchi sword.

According to Yura, the stability Samura advocates is illusory. The flowers that emerged after the war still bloom on an isolated island, a sign that the curse remains active. For the villain, ignoring this phenomenon would be the protagonist's greatest sin, as he until then seemed oblivious to the persistence of chaos.

Unexpected alliance and return of the past

Despite the disconcerting proposal, Samura doesn't reject the offer. He ponders the risk of keeping the Hishaku at large with such dangerous swords. At the same time, he recognizes that the threat of Shinuchi could resurface while the sword-wielder lives. With that, he agrees to collaborate—a twist that leaves the story in suspense as to the character's true objectives.

The chapter then revisits the story of Iori, Samura's daughter, who was taken in by Inori's sister after being bullied at school because of her father's past. Six months later, she is approached by members of the Masumi group, who propose erasing her history and offering her a new identity.

Iori recalls moments with her father, including a letter in which he apologizes for the suffering he caused. Even with all the changes, the young woman cannot forget her origins. The memories intensify the moment the sword's seal is broken, a sign that something great is about to happen.

The battle of the enchanted swords begins in chapter 74 of Kagurabachi.

The action returns to the present as Iori defends herself from a hostile group, wielding a real sword for the first time. Although inexperienced, she displays skill, learned from Samura, and shows that she is willing to fight to be reunited with her father.

Meanwhile, Chihiro and Hiruhiko prepare for combat. Hiruhiko, injured by Chihiro earlier, decides to continue despite the impending conditions. Beside him, Toto warns him that Samura will come for him if he wields an enchanted sword.

Meanwhile, Iori asks Chihiro if the sky darkened because of Samura. The answer, though uncertain, suggests her father is watching her from afar. Chihiro reassures her that the girl's feelings are not in vain. At that moment, the two young swordsmen simultaneously draw their blades.

The sky, previously heavy, opens with the release of the swords. The final scene shows Samura descending from the heavens with black wings, resembling a corrupted angelic figure. His arrival marks the beginning of a three-way battle between the wielders of the enchanted swords, promising to redefine the course of the story.

Crossed paths and redemption at stake

Chapter 74 of Kagurabachi highlights Samura's moral dilemmas, Iori's evolution, and the unfolding Seitei War. The narrative combines family drama, dark fantasy, and strategic battles, in a heightened tension that promises a climax in future issues.

The pending reunion between father and daughter adds an emotional layer to the plot. Meanwhile, the alliance between Samura and the Hishaku raises questions about the true nature of his regret and the consequences of his choice.

With the stage set for a massive clash, Kagurabachi establishes itself as one of the most intense manga series in the current Weekly Shonen Jump series. The presence of enchanted swords, now wielded by characters with conflicting goals, heightens anticipation for the upcoming chapters.
