Kagurabachi , the manga of Takeru Hokazono , continues to prove that it deserves an adaptation for anime. After all, with the release of its seventh volume on May 2, 2025, the work will exceed 2.2 million copies in circulation.
The news was officially revealed on Monday (29) in the official account of the series in X (former Twitter). However, the English version, licensed by Viz Media , also advances, with the third volume scheduled for May 6.
What to expect from the anime kagurabachi
Since his debut in September 2023 in Weekly Shōnen Jump , Kagurabachi has quickly won the Otaku community. First, the story features Chihiro Rokuhira, young apprentice of renowned blacksmith Kunishige Rokuhira, famous for creating magic swords that ended the devastating seitei war. However, Chihiro's quiet life collapses when the Hishaku wizard group invades his home, murdered his father and steals the legendary "enchanted blades." Determined to take revenge, Chihiro wields Agent, a seventh secret sword, and begins his journey.
Surprisingly, Kagurabachi went viral before he even won great awards. Memes comparing the title to consecrated works, such as Boruto and Naruto , flooded social networks, generating a mass curiosity. Although it started as a joke, the manga quickly won readers with its intense narrative and striking characters.
Currently, success is undeniable. For comparison, in July 2024, Kagurabachi totaled about 350,000 copies sold (including digital). That is, in less than a year, the number tripled! No wonder the work won the 10th Next Manga Award in the 2024 manga category.
Although there is no official anime announcement yet, rumors boil behind the scenes. Therefore, it remains for fans to hope that the long awaited adaptation will come true soon.
