Romance, monsters, and unexpected situations

Based on the manga by Spica Aoki, published since 2018 in the magazine Monthly Comic Alive, Kaiju Girl Caramelise follows Kuroe Akaishi, a student who lives with a mysterious condition. Because of her difficulty interacting socially, she avoids getting close to other people.

However, everything changes when she falls in love with Arata Minami, the most popular boy in school. The problem arises when her feelings awaken a dormant power that transforms her into a kaiju, creating a constant struggle between emotion and self-control.

With over 230,000 copies in circulation, the work blends school romance, comedy, and fantasy elements. The premiere is scheduled for July and promises to present a different approach to the shoujo genre. Meanwhile, readers can follow other news about anime, manga, and new seasons here at AnimeNews.
