Kaiju No.8 – Manga surpassed 4 million copies in circulation

Naoya Matsumoto 's Kaiju No.8 manga surpassed the 4 million copies mark in circulation with the release of its fourth volume this Friday. The series was the fastest to reach this mark in Shonen Jump+ (as opposed to Shueisha's printed manga).

The four million is for copies in circulation that are printed or sold, not printed and sold. The number is not a sales statistic.

Shueisha published a promotional video to celebrate the fourth volume of the manga, check it out below:

Kaiju No.8 is filling a little explored space in the Japanese manga market, bringing some of the narrative and visual style of the famous Webtoons, but with a standard classic manga structure, thus creating a mix between the two styles and giving readers a different experience, which we can see is attracting many looks. In fact, the Kaiju No. 8 manga came in first place in the seventh edition of “Next Manga” (Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishō) in the web manga category.

Matsumoto launched the manga in July 2020 in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+. The chapters are available on the MANGA Plus under the title Monster #8 in English. However, the manga is not yet available in Brazil.
