While the search for "Kaiju No. 9," who disguised himself as a human and is on the run, continues, the Tachikawa base, without Mina present, is suddenly attacked by a horde of kaiju! Leading a group of pterodactyls—creatures that normally don't act in concert—is a new "great kaiju" who understands human language and possesses impressive intelligence. This kaiju, as if enjoying the battle, decides to focus on the strongest member present at that moment: Hoshina.

Japan is the place with the highest monster occurrence rate in the world, suffering invasions every day.
