The second season of Kaiju No. 8 is already getting fans counting down. The official website has revealed a new promotional visual inspired by spring this year, and the hype is only growing.

As we await the return of Kafka Hibino and the Kaiju Defense Force, the anime's official X account (formerly Twitter) has released new artwork for the Kaiju Hyakkei series—a project that depicts the characters enjoying a relaxing time around Japan. This time, Mina, Kikoru, and Konomi are seen enjoying a typical spring day, sitting in a park under the cherry blossoms, enjoying a peaceful picnic.
Therefore, the second season will premiere in July 2025 on TV Tokyo and other broadcasters in Japan. The first season compilation and the new original episode, "Hoshina's Day Off," will air simultaneously in a limited theatrical release.
This illustration accompanies the release of the OVA "Hoshina's Day Off," which arrives alongside the special Mission Recon film, scheduled to premiere in theaters later this semester. Additionally, the Kaiju Hyakkei series will continue to be updated on the 8th of each month, always bringing new perspectives on the characters outside the battlefield.
And if you thought summer 2025 would be lukewarm, get ready: in addition to Kaiju No. 8, we'll have new seasons of Dandadan, Grand Blue, My Dress-Up Darling, and much more.
