Bato.to piracy website has finally received an official explanation. According to the Torrent Freak , the direct responsibility for the takedown lay with Kakao Entertainment , one of the largest content companies in South Korea.

According to the report, the action came from the company's anti-piracy division, called P.CoK (Protecting the Content of Kakao Entertainment) . The group stated that it identified the founder and main developer of Bato.to, locating them in their country of residence and initiating legal proceedings. Furthermore, Kakao revealed that it has identified other individuals involved, such as moderators and community administrators, sending them cease and desist legal notices.

Meanwhile, communities linked to the site began to distance themselves from any discussion about illegal content. Subreddit and Discord moderators started warning users about Kakao's active monitoring and potential legal action.

Kakao, known worldwide for works such as Solo Leveling , has also previously claimed responsibility for the takedown of other sites, such as Comick and Reaper Scans , reinforcing its global offensive against manga and webtoon .
