At first glance it looks like a normal anime, but what was curious was the staff's decision to make the anime with only eight episodes (which goes against the usual cour scheme in anime, that is, having between 11-13 episodes). The anime production specifically wanted a smaller number of episodes in order to increase the animation quality and tell a more compact story.

The anime is based on a web browser game released in 2013 and takes place in a world where humanity has lost control of the seas. The threat that has taken over the seas is the Abyssal Fleet. The only ones who can fight this threat are Kan-Musu (Ship Girls), girls who possess the spirit of naval ships from bygone eras.

Synopsis

One day, a Kan-musume arrives in Chinjufu; she is from a special class of destroyer. Her name is Fubuki, and she becomes the central character of the story, which recounts her training days as well as her missions in battles alongside other ship-girls against these mysterious enemies.
