Kanna Kii Umibe – Manga gets anime adaptation

Fuji TV announced that the manga Kanna Kii Umibe no Étranger (The Stranger on the Beach or The Stranger on the Beach) will be adapted into anime film. It was also revealed that the film will arrive in Japan in summer 2020.

The story revolves around Mio, a high school boy who lost his parents. Shun, a novelist who lived near Mio's home on a remote island in Okinawa, noticed Mio sitting for hours on a bench on the beach. They became close, but Mio had to leave Okinawa. Three years later, Mio returns to confront his feelings.

Finally, Akiyo Ohashi takes over the direction of the anime at Studio Hibari and also acts as scriptwriter and screenwriter.
