Karaoke Iko! New trailer reveals release date

The production team for the anime Karaoke Iko! (Let's Go Karaoke!) released the first teaser trailer and promotional image for the adaptation this Wednesday (19). The trailer reveals that the anime will premiere in July .

Studio Doga Kobo (Oshi no Ko) is responsible for the anime's production and has released the names of the production :

  • Directed by: Asami Nakatani (SUNSHINE in the MIRROR);
  • Assistant Director: Yukiko Tsukahara (The Imaginary);
  • Screenwriter: Yoshimi Narita (Dance Dance Danseur);
  • Character Designer: Mai Matsuura (KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm);
  • Music composer: Takurō Iga (Oshi no Ko).

The production team revealed another name for the voice cast: Shinnosuke Tokudome will voice Wada . The character is a second-year high school student and Satomi in the school's choir group.

About Karaoke Iko!

Yama Wayama wrote and illustrated the manga of the same name that inspired the anime. The author released the manga as a Dojin (or fanzine). This type of work is created by fans or independent artists, without the official authorization of the copyright holders.

Kadokawa published the first chapter in August 2019. The manga placed third in the 14th Manga Taisho Awards in 2021 live-action film that premiered in January 2024.

Nothing worries Satomi Oka more than the upcoming final choir competition of his life in high school—until a stranger from the shadows approaches him and demands, "Let's go to karaoke!".

A terrifying prospect led Kyouji Narita, a yakuza who isn't easily scared, to seek Satomi's help. The boss is holding a karaoke contest, in which the loser will be forced to get a tattoo chosen and applied in a torturous manner by the boss himself!

Oka participated in many vocal rehearsals over the years, but never experienced one-on-one karaoke sessions with a gangster!
