Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai gets its first trailer

The production team of Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai (Kaya-chan Isn't Scary) revealed this Friday the first promotional video for the anime, announcing the staff and cast.

East Fish Studio (Fragtime) is producing the anime. The trailer features some of the staff. Watch the trailer below to learn more about the team:

Hiroshi Ikehata (365 Days to the Wedding) is the director. Shigeru Murakoshi (Ninja Kamui) is supervising the series scripts, Tarō Yamada and Hiroyuki Moriguchi are designing the characters. Kohta Yamamoto and Shun Narita are composing the music, and Yukio Nagasaki is the sound director.

Cast and character appearance

On the website, the team revealed the looks of the main characters and which actresses will voice them.

Azusa Tachibana will be Kaya-chan

Kaya is a junior at Hanagi Kindergarten. She's often considered a troublemaker who causes trouble in the park, but no one knows yet that this is because Kaya has psychic abilities.
She's very strong against monsters, but she's only a 5-year-old girl.

Maaya Uchida will play Chie-sensei.

Chie is a year-round teacher at Hanagi Kindergarten. She's kind and serious, and has the power to identify suspicious people. However, since she lacks psychic abilities, she can't fight the monster with her power. Although she understands Kaya the most, she's also the one most influenced by her power.

Synopsis of Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai

The original work is a manga of the same name, written and illustrated by Tarō Yuri, released by Shinchosha Kurage Bunch website in 2022. Special art by Yuri was released to celebrate the release of the first trailer:

Kaya-chan is a notorious problem child at her kindergarten, but none of the adults know her secret until Chie-sensei, who is tasked with caring for her, discovers Kaya-chan's hidden ability. She can see evil spirits and defeat them with one punch! What will happen to this five-year-old who gets herself into trouble when she's just trying to help?
