The official website for the anime Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai (Kaya-chan Isn't Scary) received a new visual this Monday (06). The series will be released in the January 2026 season.
Hiroshi Ikehata (365 Days to the Wedding) is the director. Shigeru Murakoshi (Ninja Kamui) is supervising the series scripts, Tarō Yamada and Hiroyuki Moriguchi are designing the characters. Kohta Yamamoto and Shun Narita are composing the music, and Yukio Nagasaki is the sound director.
East Fish Studio (Fragtime) is responsible for the anime's production.

Kaya-chan is a notoriously troublesome child at her kindergarten, but none of the adults know her secret, until Chie-sensei is put in charge of looking after her and discovers Kaya-chan's hidden ability. She can see evil spirits and defeat them with a single punch! What will happen to this five-year-old who gets into trouble when she's just trying to help?
The original work is a manga of the same name, written and illustrated by Tarō Yuri, published by Shinchosha on Kurage Bunch website in 2022.
