Aniplex has officially announced Inherit the Winds (Kaze wo Tsugu Mono) , a new original anime TV series that blends historical drama with an innovative visual style. The production is a collaboration between Live2D Creative Studio and Drive , promising to combine Live2D technology with traditional animation in an intense narrative about youth during the turbulent Edo period.

The anime is directed by Tomohiro Kawamura ( GAMBA: Gamba to Nakama-tachi ), with a script by Toyohiro Narui , and character designs by Fumi Ebina . The music is composed by Shigeru Kishida , vocalist and guitarist of the band Quruli , who is making his debut as a composer of anime TV soundtracks.
What to expect from Kaze wo Tsugu Mono?
The story takes place in 1863 (year 3 of the Bunkyu era) . A young soldier with amnesia is taken to the barracks of the Rōshigumi in Mibu , the future organization known as the Shinsengumi . There, he is taken in by Okita Sōji , who names him Jinsuke Tachikawa . From then on, we follow his life as a member of the troop, while Japan goes through a period of great political instability. Thus, the plot combines human drama, battles, and historical dilemmas, exploring the loss of identity and the search for belonging.
