Synopsis

In the manga's story, companies and traders bet large sums of money to hire fighters for unarmed hand-to-hand combat. The winner takes all in these Kengan competitions that originated during the Edo period. Traders use fights as a means of resolving disputes among themselves. The strong and mysterious Ouma Tokita, whose nickname is Ashura, enters these matches. The chairman of the Nogi Group, Hideki Nogi, keeps his ambitions to himself when he meets Ashura. Events begin to revolve around the Kengan fights when Ashura enters the fray.

The first season of the anime was released worldwide in July 2019 on Netflix. The second part, consisting of episodes 13 through 24, premiered in October of the same year.

Despite being released by Netflix, Kengan Ashura premiered at the Anime Expo in July 2018. Finally, author Sandrovich released Kengan Ashura with illustrations by Daromeon on the Manga ONE in 2012 and finished the series in August 2018, but the manga received a new arc in January 2019.
