Aniplex announced that the film Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train sold 7,983,442 tickets to earn 10,754,232,550 yen in its first 10 days at the box office. The film set a new record in Japan, becoming the fastest film to gross 10 billion yen, beating Spirited Away, which took 25 days to reach 10 billion yen when it was released in Japan in 2001.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train therefore sold 1,115,182 tickets on Saturday to earn 1,500,944,600 yen, and 1,157,654 tickets on Sunday to earn 1,540,504,150 yen.
The film premiered in Japan on October 16th.
