My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

Kimi No Na Wa (Your Name), anime by director Makoto Shinkai, will have a live-action version, but the project has just gained a top-tier director: Marc Webb, responsible for directing The Amazing Spider-Man and 500 Days of Summer.

It was recently confirmed that the remake will have a Western point of view.

The live-action version will be produced by JJ Abrams, in partnership with Paramount Pictures.

Grossing US$355.2 million worldwide, Your Name surpassed Spirited Away, establishing itself as the highest-grossing anime film in the world. Furthermore, the production became the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time.

Kimi No Na Wa follows Mitsuha Miyamizu, a young woman living in rural Japan who dreams of leaving her small town behind to try her luck in Tokyo. Meanwhile, Taki Tachibana (Ryûnosuke Kamiki), a young man working at an Italian restaurant in Tokyo, dreams of quitting his job to become an architect. The two don't know each other, but are directly and mysteriously connected through the images in their dreams.
