Kinoko Inu, a manga with a mushroom protagonist, gets an anime

On social media, we learned about the anime adaptation of the manga Kinoko Inu , a mix between a dog and a mushroom. The anime premieres in October 2024 in Japan.

Additional details about the series such as crew, cast and exact release schedule have not yet been revealed.

Synopsis Kinoko Inu:

We follow the life of Hotaru Yuuyami, a picture book author grieving the loss of his beloved canine companion, Hanako. But one day, a peculiar discovery changes everything: a mysterious mushroom-shaped creature appears in his garden, bringing with it new adventures and renewed hope.

Finally, author Kimama Aoboshi first launched the manga between 2010 and 2022 in Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Comic Ryu manga magazine.
