The official website of the GeGeGe no Kitaro revealed this Thursday (27) that the film Kitarō Tanjou: Gegege no Nazo (Kintarō Birth: The Mystery of Gegege) will premiere in Japan on November 17 .

Additionally, the site also revealed the poster below produced by character designer Touko Yatabe:
Gou Koga (Gegege no Kitarō: Nippon Bakuretsu!!, One Piece Episode of Sabo) is directing the film at Toei Animation, while Hiroyuki Yoshino (Macross Frontier, World Trigger, 13 episodes in GeGeGe no Kitarō) is writing the script. Touko Yatabe is designing the characters.
The film is part of four “major projects” that celebrate the 100th anniversary of Shigeru Mizuki’s birth. Mizuki passed away in 2015 at the age of 93, the other project is a new Akuma Kun anime that premieres on Netflix this fall.
Finally, the last GeGeGe no Kitarō anime released premiered in April 2018 and replaced Dragon Ball Super in the same time frame. The program ended its run in March 2020, after 97 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series as soon as it aired.
