After an untimely and embarrassing death, Kazuma Satō meets a goddess named Aqua who offers to reincarnate him in a parallel world with MMORPG elements controlled by a demonic king, where he can live adventures and battle monsters. Although Aqua offers Kazuma the possibility of taking “anything” with him to help him on his journey, Kazuma, in retaliation after some provocations from Aqua, chooses her against her will to accompany him.
