Japanese animation studio Production IG announced during the Kurobas Cup 2015 the production of a new film based on the manga Kuroko no Basket by Tadatoshi Fujimaki .

An anime adaptation was produced by Production IG with 25 episodes originally and shortly afterwards it was renewed for another season with another 25 episodes. The third season began in January 2015 and has already been completed.
