Kusuriya at Hitorigoto wins new opening of Season 2

Part 2 of Season 2 of the Anime Kusuriya at The Apothecary Diaries had its opening without credits revealed. The debut takes place today, April 4, 2025.

Titled “Kusushiki” by the band Mrs. Green Apple . This new phase of the anime officially begins with episode 13, which airs today, April 4, at 11:40 am (Japan time). Toho Animation Studio animation and Studio × Olm.

On the anime's official website, vocalist Motoki Ohmori commented how honored the band to contribute to such a loved work in Japan and around the world. The inspiration for "Kusushiki" came from the Japanese word "Shi", which can mean both "medicine" and something "mysterious and wonderful."

Synopsis:

Maomao, a pharmacist's daughter with an unusual fascination with poisons and medicine, and Jinshi, a handsome and enigmatic eunuch, face more complex mysteries within the imperial court! With the confirmation of the pregnancy of the emperor's favorite consort, Lady Gyokuyo, Maomao returns to the Jade Palace as his poison tester. While he was vigilant to prevent new attacks on the consort and the imperial heir from occurring, several other issues began to arise: the entry of a new consort, Lady Loulan, daughter of a powerful minister from the era of the former emperor; an unsolved case that put Jinshi's life at risk; and the unknown whereabouts of the suspect, Sui Rei. However, in the midst of this tense atmosphere, foreign traders and an emissary arrive at the palace with absurd demands.

However, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto ( Diaries of an Apothecary ) began publication in October 2011 in Shousetsuka ni Narou . Finally, the novel had two manga adaptations, the first by Nekokurage published in Big Gangan and the second in Sunday Gene-X.
