
The official website of Kyoto Animation , which handles the Kyoukai no Kanata , announced that the series will receive a film in 2015. The announcement was also made on the seventh Blu-ray, which was shipped this week.
The seventh volume also included some extras, titled “Shinnome” (Dawn), as well as two new “Kyōkai no Kanata Idol Saiban! ~Mayoi Nagaramo Kimi o Sabaku-min”. The anime premiered in Japan in October, and the subscription channel Crunchyroll is streaming the anime in several countriessince it aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks also announced in October that it had licensed the anime for North America.
The dark fantasy follows a teenager named Kanbara Akihito. Although the boy appears to be human, he is half-youmu and invulnerable to injury because he regenerates quickly. One day, Akihito meets the girl Kuriyama Mirai when she is about to jump off the roof of the school. Mirai is isolated because of her ability to manipulate blood, something that is rare even among members of the spirit world. Amazing events happen after this encounter.
