Synopsis:
The story follows a bored high school student named Hiro Yuuki as he is drawn into a fully immersive RPG video game. The game, titled Kiwame Quest, is presented as “more real than reality itself,” with mind-blowing graphics, impressive NPC behavior, and even the smell of foliage and the sensation of wind against your skin. Unfortunately, the game is now a virtual ghost town, having been flooded with complaints from players that it was too realistic for its own good. Its quests are nearly impossible to complete, as players must be in the same physical shape as their characters to complete them, just as they would in real life. Players feel real pain as wounds from blows and punctures take days to heal. The only reward is the mere feeling of accomplishment. It's the opposite of casual games, but Hiro vows to conquer the most realistic game ever.
Finally, the light novel series Kyuukyoku Shinka Shita by author Light Tuchihi began publication in August 2020 by Kadokawa , with only 2 volumes published so far.
