Lazarus episode 4 shows that the group is still far from discovering Dr. Skinner's location. In the previous episode, Elaine finds a clue over the hacker Dr. 909, who would possibly be helping the scientist to cover up his trail. However, during the investigation, they realize that finding Skinner will be even harder than they thought.
The beginning of the episode, like the first three, brings a story of someone who used Hapuna. In episodes 2 and 3, the characters in the story seem to be Leland and Cristina, because the voices used resemble theirs. Already in episode 4, the protagonist of the story seems to be Elaina.
The girl responsible for the report says that the reason why she used the pain reliever was because her emotions were too much for her, and Hapuna was a promise to rid any kind of sadness. However, there is still no confirmation that the stories really are the members of the Lazarus group, but it is the most likely.
The Lazarus Group on the back of Sam Stephenson
Continuing the track found by Elaina in the previous episode, they find that before Skinner announced about the dangers of Hapuna, Sam Stephenson, a stock broker, had deposited a large amount of money in the hacker's account.
The group realizes that the money came from the sale of the analgesic's shares, and that Sam knew that Hapuna's actions would fall. With this, they connect the points and conclude that, in exchange for information about the medicine, Dr. 909 helped Skinner disappear.
While researching Stephenson, they discover that man, besides being despicable, owns a nightclub. The scene in which the group looks for the broker on social networks and puts a video of it, in order to know their personality, is very funny. Their expressions, as Sam shares stupid comments and highlights their asshole way into their video, gradually become revulsion.
With this, Elaine continues to keep an eye on possible transactions in the hacker's account, and Axel, Cristina, Leland and Doug go to the club to get some information. So, to infiltrate as a couple, Leland dresses as a woman to get in with Doug.
The group discovers that Dr. 909 has nothing to do with Skinner
After entering the nightclub, the group realizes that Sam Stephenson is even worse than they thought. He and his guests doped women and abuse them. Sam tries to do the same with Cristina, but she is not doped and takes the opportunity to punches and kicks him.
In addition, Elaina discovers that the nightclub DJ, known as the visionary, is the famous hacker Dr. 909. Thus, a sequence of action scenes starts, and Gilberto, as it demonstrates since the first episode, is great in melee combat as he uses parkour techniques to move. However, this time, the song that accompanies the scene was the nightclub itself, not jazz, as we are used to.
In the episode, the characters combine their firearm fighting skills, including a very good Axel scene and Cris acting together to defeat the men who work for Sam. As soon as Stephenson and Visionary enter the helicopter to escape, the protagonist, who thinks he is in a mission film Impossible , jumps and hangs on the aircraft so they don't escape. Lazarus 's action scenes are usually very fluid, dynamic and value movement.
In the end, when they can stop the pair, they discover that Dr. 909 is not working with Skinner. However, they get a clue that can be useful. The hacker says he only got the information about Hapuna because he invaded the Delta pharmaceutical system. With this, the group concludes that if the pharmacist knew the dangers of the painkiller is because the people there should have a direct connection with the scientist. The final scene shows a place that looks like a test laboratory, where there are monkeys that show suffering.
Lazarus: The anime delivers action, mystery and interesting characters
Lazarus is following an interesting path, and each episode brings a mystery about Skinner's location. Also, it makes us wonder if there is really a cure. And if any, will the group be able to find it? Also, in all episodes there is a hope that the characters are closer to Skinner, but in the end, the scientist's intelligence and cleverness in covering his trail is clear.
In addition, the characters are fun and captivating, especially Axel Gilberto. Also, one of the interesting points of the work is Dr. Skinner himself, which I believe will be more explored at some point. So far, we know that he was an estimated person by everyone who knew him and, it seems, was really a good person.
And that leaves two questions open: Will the painkiller really kill humanity? If so, the reason for creating hapuna would only hatred for people because they don't care about the world where they live, or is there another reason behind it?
