Streaming broadcasters and platforms plan to broadcast and distribute Lazarus globally in 2025, consolidating it as one of the most ambitious anime of the season. The direction is the Shinichirō Watanabe ( Cowboy Bebop ), with Akemi Hayashi ( Banana Fish ) in Character Design and Chad Stahelski ( John Wick ) in the supervision of action scenes. The production is from the renowned Mappa (Attack on Titan), in collaboration with Sola Entertainment .
What is the story of Anime Lazarus?
The story takes place in the year 2052 , where a miraculous painkiller named Hapuna, created by Dr. Skinner, hides a deadly effect: three years after its use, it leads the patient to death. Now, a group of five agents, including the axel , needs to find Skinner and the antidote in just 30 days.
Kamasi Washington 's powerful “Vortex” , is a jazz show in multiple movements. The Boo Radleys packs the closing with the song “Lazarus”, which directly inspired the creation of the work. Mai Yoneyama drove, drew and created the Storyboard from the final sequence.
However, the Japanese distributor will launch Blu-ray & DVD Vol.1 on May 21, including a 100-page booklet and bonus videos.
