One of the biggest leaks about the Nintendo Switch 2 emerged after the technical analysis by a Chinese fan and published on the internet. The new console motherboard appeared on resale sites in the Chinese market, which enabled its full disassembly. With this, detailed images and unprecedented information about the hardware has been released online.

The new switch will be equipped with the Nvidia T239 chip, created exclusively for Nintendo. It brings RAM LPDDR5X memory, fast storage and more advanced graphics.
New leak from Nintendo Switch 2 happened in China
The content was released by the 极客湾 Geekerwan channel, known as detailed analyzes of electronic components. Although the plate obtained is not yet functional, it has been turned on. Thus, it enabled partial tests and the confirmation of various specifications that already circulated in rumors.
The analysis based on chip engineering and performance simulations indicates that the new console can reach up to seven times more performance than the current version.
SOC T239 combines modern architecture and energy efficiency
The heart of the Nintendo Switch 2 will be the Soci Nvidia T239, a custom chip that combines an Eight Cortex-A78C CPU CPU with a GPU based on AMPERE architecture. Each processor core has 256 kb of L2 cache, while the system shares 4 MB of L3 cache. The manufacture of the chip follows the Samsung 8N process, an advanced variation of the 8 Nm node, which prioritizes energy efficiency and transistor density.
The GPU, with 1,536 CUDA nuclei, represents a remarkable leap from the Tegra X1 chip used on the original switch. Organized in six texture processing clusters (TPCs), with two flow processors (SMS) each. In addition, the graphic unit is closer to the ada lovelace architecture used in the RTX 40 series than the traditional RTX 30 line.
With support to modern technologies such as DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and Ray Basic Tracing, the new GPU significantly expands the console's graphic potential. According to the analysis, the chip Die is 207 mm², twice the size of the previous graphic processor. That is, this indicates greater processing capacity and more space for complex graphics.
Quick memory and expanded storage reinforce technical upgrade
Another point confirmed in the leak is the presence of two 6 GB LPDDR5X memory chips each. Thus, totaling 12 GB in a 128 -bit bus. With a maximum specification of 8,533 mt/s, this configuration ensures high bandwidth. Although the final version of the console should operate at lower speeds to save energy in portable use.
Internal storage also evolves, with the inclusion of a 256 GB UFS 3.1 chip, manufactured by SK Hynix. This represents a significant improvement compared to the previous model, which had only 32 GB of flash memory and much lower reading and recording speeds.
Simulations indicate performance up to 7.5 times higher than the original switch
Since the motherboard is not yet in a complete functional state, Geekerwan has used a GA107 Notebook 2050 notebook to simulate Soc T239 behavior. Thus, when limiting frequency and energy consumption, the test sought to reproduce realistic scenarios in both portable and dock mode.
In dock mode, the GPU reaches 755 MHz and CPU runs at 998 MHz. In this setting, the tests estimate similar performance to a GTX 1050 Ti with DLSS support, with a score of about 2,100 on the 3dmark Time Spy Benchmark. Already in portable mode, with the GPU at 421 MHz and the CPU at 1.1 GHz, the simulated performance is equivalent to that of a GTX 750 Ti, scoring about 1,300 points on the same test.
This performance represents a jump of up to 7.5 times over the first switch, although it falls short of Nvidia's initial expectations, which project up to ten times more power.
Demanding games should run with adaptive resolution and DLSS
Based on simulations, popular and heavy games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong will be able to run at Nintendo Switch 2, thanks to the intensive use of DLSS to compensate for native resolution limitations. In dock mode, Cyberpunk 2077 should reach 30 frames per second by 1080p with DLSS, from internal resolution of 720p. In portable mode, internal resolution can fall to 360p, maintaining between 30 and 40 frames.
For Black Myth: Wukong, estimates indicate that the game will be able to reach 30 FPS in Dock mode with internal resolution of 626p and balanced DLSS. At the laptop, performance is more limited even with lower resolutions and DLSS enabled.
Other titles, such as Monster Hunter Wilds, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Call of Duty, also appear in forecasts. Performance, although variable, points to a closer experience of past generation consoles, such as PlayStation 4, with the advantage of modern upscaling technologies.
Nintendo Switch 2 CPU Limited is the weak point of the new generation
Despite the graphic advance, the Switch 2 can be a bottleneck. Frequently of only 1.1 GHz in portable and 998 MHz mode in dock mode, the most demanding task performance should be lower than rivals such as Steam Deck. In the simulated tests, the multi-core score at Geekbench 6 was approximately 2,500 points, representing about two thirds of Valve's console performance.
The leak confirms several information already speculated, but also brings concrete data on what to expect from the new Nintendo Switch. With real images of the motherboard, SoC T239 details and real games performance simulations, the content has become the main technical source about Nintendo's future console.
