It was revealed that Mangaka Leiji Matsumoto died at the age of 85 from acute heart failure on February 13th. Matsumoto was known for creating science fiction classics, including: Star Patrol Yamato , Galaxy Express 999, Captain Harlock, among others.

In Brazil, his best-known work was Patrulha Estelar Yamato , an animation that won over many fans in the 1980s.
Synopsis:
The story revolves around the adventures of the crew of the space battleship Yamato, adapted for space travel in the year 2199, based on the Japanese battleship Yamato, which sank during World War II. Until then, its wreckage had been stranded on the ocean floor. It was adapted to be Earth's last hope in resisting attacks from the planet Gamilon.
Finally, Matsumoto was born on January 25, 1938, in the city of Kurume , in the Fukuoka region.
