Artist James Clyne , responsible for films like Avatar, recently published some Concepts Arts (visual representation of a project) that he created for Warner Bros., related to the Akira Live-Action film. Clyne was hired when director Ruairi Robinson was tapped at the time to direct the film.
James Clyne, was responsible for major Concepts for films, such as: ENDER'S GAME, and OBLIVION, Since then, several other directors have had the project in hand, although most recently Jaume Collet-Serra , who said in an interview that he hopes that Akira be your next work.
The original Cyberpunk story takes place in Neo-Tokyo, a rebuilt Tokyo city (on what is now Tokyo Bay) after being destroyed in World War III. As it turns out, World War III was (supposedly) started by the uncontrollable growth of supernatural powers of a child named Akira.
For now, let's hope that the film Akira hits cinema screens.
