After leaking over the weekend, the first official images of the live -action The Legend of Zelda were revealed by Nintendo this Monday (17).

The production is under the direct supervision of Shigeru Miyamoto , the legendary creator of the franchise. On the other hand, Avi Arad, known for his major Marvel successes, is acting as co-producer. In this way, the film combines Nintendo with Arad's track record in blockbusters. Meanwhile, Wes Ball ( Reign of the Planet of the Apes ) is directing, promising an epic visual style aligned with the fantasy of the Hyrule universe.
The world premiere is scheduled for March 7, 2027 , with distribution by Sony Pictures. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that the film will be co-financed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment, with Nintendo investing over 50% of the total cost. Therefore, the Japanese company assumes a central role in the creation of this highly anticipated adaptation.
