On Monday (13), the official website of Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These , the new anime based on the famous science fiction novel by Yoshiki Tanaka , revealed the broadcast dates for the anime's second season. Its second season, Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Seiran (The New Thesis: Stellar War) will consist of three "films". They will be feature-length films with the equivalent duration of four episodes (96 minutes), and will consist of three screenings in Japanese cinemas.

The premiere dates in Japan are, respectively: September 27, October 25 and November 29.
The anime is being produced by Production I.G. , and is directed by Shunsuke Tada . Katsura Tsushima, Yoko Kikuchi, and Iwao Teraoka are serving as character designers, along with Takayuki Goto as chief animation director.
Its first season titled Legend of the Galactic Heroes : Die Neue These Kaikou (The New Thesis: Star-Crossed) aired on Japanese TV in 12 episodes in April 2018.
