Macross Delta (Macross Δ) — The new anime in the "Macross" series has received news, including a teaser and several promotional images for this new TV series. The new anime series in the Macross franchise will premiere on December 31st.

With animation by Satelight and direction by Kenji Yasuda (Arata: The Legend, Noein – to your other self, Sōsei no Aquarion Love), the script is by Toshizo Nemoto (Inu X Boku Secret Service, Log Horizon) and character design is by Yuu Shindou (Persona 4 the Golden Animation).

The franchise began in 1982 with The Super Dimension Fortress Macross , followed by two more series Macross 7 and Macross Frontier , several films starting with The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? and several OVAs (including Macross II, Macross Plus, Macross Dynamite 7 and Macross Zero).

It's been four years since the last major anime, Macross Frontier, in Japan the two Macross Frontier films will receive a new Blu-ray release on December 24th.
