The official Macross franchise website has revealed details of its new project. The site announced the title " Macross Δ " ( Macross Delta ) with teaser promotional art; the project logo also reveals two spaceships with the slogan "Gekitsui se yo" (Shoot [Hit It] Down).
A live event will reveal more details about the project on October 29th at 12:00 PM. The creator of the Macross franchise, Shoji Kawamori, will appear at the event, which will reveal the main staff, the winner of the audition for the anime's new singer, and the anime's characters. Approximately 8,000 candidates applied for the auditions.
It has been four years since the last major anime, Macross Frontier, and in Japan the two Macross Frontier films will receive a new Blu-ray release on December 24th.
