The visual novel game Mahoutsukai no Yoru ( Witch on the Holy Night ) will have its film adaptation. According to information on the official website , the anime is produced by Ufotable (Kimetsu no Yaiba, Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works).

Synopsis:

The story takes place near the end of the Showa Era, in the 1980s, in the city of Misaki. After moving into a mansion, Aoko Aozaki begins learning sorcery from a young sorceress, Alice Kuonji, the mansion's supposed witch. Mysterious intruders have been disturbing the countryside of Misaki, prompting Alice and Aoko to investigate.

1996 novel Mahoutsukai no Yoru Kinoko Nasu was the first novel that established the now-known Nasuverse . In high school, he was inspired by the first episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion and considered writing a novel.

Finally, Type-Moon's version of the game was released on April 12, 2012, for PC and Windows. Furthermore, Mahoutsukai no Yoru was not designed as an adult game.
