The anime Majo no Tabitabi (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina) completes five years since its premiere and, to celebrate, an important announcement is scheduled for October 4, 2025.
The message released to fans reignited speculation about the film's future. The statement recalls the fall 2020 premiere and notes: "It's been a while, everyone. How are you? When this time (fall) comes around, I feel like five years have passed."
What to expect from the announcement?
The production hasn't confirmed the content of the new release. Therefore, it could simply be a special event honoring the series. On the other hand, many fans believe it's the long-awaited second season of Majo no Tabitabi , as the franchise remains popular.
The work was born as a light novel written by Jōgi Shiraishi and illustrated by Azure , published by GA Novel since 2016 and which already has 24 volumes in Japan. In addition, it received a manga adaptation drawn by Itsuki Nanao , completed in 2024 with six compiled volumes.
The anime version, produced by the studio C2C , was shown between October and December 2020, quickly winning fans for its mix of fantasy, adventure and charisma of the protagonist Elaina .
Finally, we'll just have to wait until October 4th to find out whether the traveling witch will actually return to the screens in a new season or just for celebratory events.
