Man who ran pirated anime website arrested in Japan

A 37-year-old Japanese man was arrested for running a pirated website that shared several download links on other anime . According to TV Asahi , the man worked as a freelancer in the city of Koga in Ibaraki .

Police said the website operated by the man contained URLs for 30,000 videos . Every time a visitor entered the site, they earned 0.10 yen.

So in two months he made about half a million yen ($4,300).

Finally, local law states that penalties can be severe. Operating such a website in Japan can result in up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of five million yen ($43,600).
