Man who ran pirated anime website arrested in Japan

A 37-year-old Japanese man was arrested for running a pirated website that shared several “links” for downloads on other anime . According to information from TV Asahi , the boy worked as a “freelancer” in the city of Koga in Ibaraki .

Police said the website operated by the man contained URLs for 30,000 videos . Every time a visitor entered the site, they earned 0.10 yen.

So, in two months he raised around half a million yen (4,300 dollars).

Finally, local legislation states that penalties can be severe. Having such a website in Japan can mean up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of five million yen ($43,600).
