The official website for the anime of Kuron Kanzaki's Maō-sama Retry ( Dark Lord, Retry! ) has revealed the cast and staff, along with a teaser and visual for the anime, which premieres in July.
Hiroshi Kimura (Haitai Nanafa both seasons, The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor, Danchigai) is directing the series at EKACHI EPILKA. Novelist and screenwriter Ōka Tanisaki is supervising the series scripts, and Chiyo Nakayama (key animator at Robotics; Notes, Kuroko's Basketball all three seasons) is adapting the original character designs, and Makoto Iino is handling the animation.

The story of Maō-sama Retry follows Akira Ōno, an ordinary guy who works at a company that manages an online game. He often plays the game as his character “Maō” (Dark Lord). But one day, when he logs in, he is transported to the game's fantasy world as his character. There, he meets a one-legged girl and begins his adventures alongside her. But because he is a powerful “Dark Lord,” various nations and holy maidens travel to defeat him, and he creates trouble everywhere he goes.
Amaru Minotake launched a manga adaptation in October 2017 on Web Comic Action , and Futabasha published the manga's third compiled volume on January 30.
