Nintendo is going through a new crisis, and to combat this Satoru Iwata announced that the company is considering a new business model that focuses on smartphones and tablets .
“We can't continue a business without winning. We're thinking about a new business structure," Iwata said. "Given the market represented by smartphones today, we'll naturally explore how these smart devices can be used to reach more players. It's not as simple as allowing Mario to be played on a smartphone.”
Iwata reiterated that despite taking responsibility for the delicate situation the company finds itself in, he has no intention of leaving his post and will remain with the company in order to recover as quickly as possible.
