Nintendo confirmed during a live event, presented by Satoru Iwata, that Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games will be exclusive to the Nintendo Wii U. The game marks another chapter in the partnership between Nintendo and Sega, uniting two of the biggest gaming franchises in a competition full of new features.

New gameplay features
The game will feature brand-new modes, including pairs figure skating and other winter sports with controls optimized for the Wii MotionPlus . This will be the first time the franchise uses the full sensitivity of the accessory, enhancing the immersion of the competitions. Unlike the previous edition in London 2012, players will now be able to feel each movement more realistically.
This is the fourth Olympic title released in partnership between the two giants. The collaboration began in 2007, with games available for Wii and Nintendo DS. With each edition, the series gains more popularity among fans who love seeing Mario and Sonic side-by-side in electrifying battles.
Sonic: Lost World exclusive
In addition to the Olympic announcement, Nintendo also revealed the game Sonic: Lost World , planned as part of a new strategic partnership. Jurgen Post, CEO of Sega Europe, confirmed that three exclusive Sonic adventures will be released only for Nintendo consoles in Europe and Australia.
